1) Work with the trailer owner to replace the bolts attaching the landing gear crank with a latch pin (cost about $5/trailer), or 2) Remove the landing gear crank handle and replace the bolt with the latch pin until finished with the trailer. In both cases above the latch pin is then used by the drill to turn the landing gear shaft to raise or lower the trailer. If #2 above, when finished with the trailer, remove the latch pin and reattach the crank handle.

TED is short for "Torque Elimination Device" and is made to prevent injuries to the user when torque is needed. In the base package a TED strap (a pair is supplied in the base kit) is attached to each handle of the drill. These are then extended to the ground and the operator stands in them and snugs up the straps, thereby preventing excessive movement of the drill. This is the simple and free TED. The 2nd option is to purchase the Stand Alone Drill TED kit. This is permanently attached to the drill and uses the underside of the trailer to prevent torque from spinning the drill and to allow for safe use of the XLT Drill.
