F A Q – General

NO MORE CRANKING of the landing gear. With your XLT Drill in hand, walk to the landing gear and encompass the landing gear shaft with the Drill Coupler. A finger press on the trigger and 10-15 seconds later you are done! Never a concern on longevity of the battery since it is good for 20-50 uses before a charge is needed. On the road to your destination rested, less stress and safely!
Remove the handle on the landing gear crank. Replace the bolt with the latch pin that comes with the XLT Drill kit. Done - in the simplest use scenario. Due to torque generated to raise/lower the trailer, safety dictates an additional action is needed. 1) Use the TED straps in the base kit, 2) install TEDs on both drill and trailer (fleet use typically), 3) use the Stand Alone TED kit. Your choice above ensures 100% safe use of the drill.
Safety is paramount in any task we, as humans, undertake. To accomplish the task of raising and lowering trailers via the landing gear, torque and power is often needed. The drill will physically attempt to spin the instant a significant amount of torque is needed. That can result in injuries unchecked - THUS THE CONCERN !
TED is short for "Torque Elimination Device" and is made to prevent injuries to the user when torque is needed. In the base package a TED strap (a pair is supplied in the base kit) is attached to each handle of the drill. These are then extended to the ground and the operator stands in them after snugging up the straps to prevent excessive movement of the drill. This is the simple and free TED but is not the recommended Fleet process.
Both the drill and trailer require a TED. The XLT Drill requires a one time install of the TED onto the drill face. The trailer uses the TED I-Beam Kit installed onto the I-Beams of the trailer after the landing gear handle is removed. A latch pin, part of the above kit, replaces the bolt on the landing gear shaft. The landing gear crank handle is then either attached to the hangar on the TED plate, placed in the cab of the tractor or attached via another means to the trailer. Fully operational and 100% safe after proper installation and only 5-10 minutes per trailer.
In all cases the landing gear handle must be removed and is usually reattached when finished with the trailer. The Drill can be use used right out of the box using the pair of TED straps supplied in the base system. A 2nd method is the optional Stand Alone Drill TED. This attaches to the front of the drill and has arms extending from it that prevent the drill from spinning using the underside of the trailer. A little more attention is needed than the Fleet Installed process, but still safe and easy to use as well. NO MORE strained arms or shoulders with the XLT System.
L2 Trucking Products Inc has been incorporated in Arkansas since 2010. It is a corporation that addresses inefficiencies in the large trucking industry by designing and manufacturing products to better trucking. HQ and warehouse is in England, Ark.
X-Press Truck Tools is the primary division of L2 Trucking Products Inc. Under this division there is both the XLT (X-Press Lift Tool) and the XCT (X-Press Converter Tool). The latter product addresses the problems with converter dollies (sometimes referenced as converter gear) which are used when dealing with double or triple trailers. See more information on the XCT product at the XCT WEBSITE.
The XLT is also used in conjunction with Grain Hopper Trailers and can be used with the smaller gooseneck, utility and dump trailers that have handles detachable. For Grain use a special coupler has been designed to both open/close the grain hopper doors and to handle the landing gear.
Fleet pricing, in volume, is less than $500 per kit (per tractor or driver or user) including the Drill TED. Fleet Installs: the TED trailer component with the hangar is @ $80 per trailer. ROI is typically 2-3 months. Intangibles include the elimination of injuries, HOS assistance, landing gear impacts on pavement and reduction in driver turnover (due to elimination of this task). You can access the full retail pricing below in the PRICE/ORDER LINK BELOW.
The three major components: drill, battery, charger are warranted for 1 year. We have a pretty much - no questions asked - warranty. That means as long as the equipment has not been run over, water immersed, mutiliated ... we will supply a replacement.
