NO MORE CRANKING of the landing gear manually. With your XLT Drill in hand, simply walk to the landing gear and encompass the shaft with the Drill. Simple finger press after designating up or down and 10-15 seconds later you are done! With a 5-10 minute install per trailer, fleet installation is quick, easy and inexpensive.

A typical FS company has a driver pulling 2 fully loaded pups to a satellite site. Dropping and returning with 2 empties. Usually a driver makes 2 round trips a night. That process means each driver is, best case, manually cranking the landing gear 16 times a night. With a savings of 1-3 minutes per use, 16-48 minutes nightly, the driver will be better rested, less stressed and more alert when driving. Even more so when hot/cold/icy/wet weather conditions. Safety is paramount in any task we, as humans, undertake. To accomplish the task of raising and lowering trailers, torque and power is needed. The drill will physically attempt to spin the instant a significant amount of torque is needed. TEDs (torque elimination devices) were created to prevent that situation. Torque can result in injuries unchecked - THUS THE CONCERN !

TED is short for "Torque Elimination Device" and was designed to prevent injuries to the user when torque is needed. In the base package a TED strap (a pair is supplied in the base kit) is attached to each handle of the drill. These are then extended to the ground and the operator stands in them after tightening up the straps to prevent excessive movement of the drill. This is the simple and free TED but is not the recommended Fleet Installation process.

Both the drill and trailer require a TED. The drill has a TED attached to it permanently. The quick/easy/cheap process for the trailer is to use the I-Beam TED Kit. It is attached to the I-Beams of the trailer after the crank handle is removed. The supplied latch pin replaces the bolt which attached the crank handle. The crank handle is then either attached to the kit's handle hangar, placed in the cab of the tractor or attached via another means to the trailer as a backup. Fully operational and 100% safe after the 5-10 minutes installation required per trailer.

Yes, the I-Beam TED Kit has all the parts needed for quick installation on a trailer. It uses the I-Beam cross members of the trailer to attach to the trailer. Clamps are provided, specifically made for I-Beams, make it easy and quick.

Some older trailers may not be able to use the I-Beam TED kit. There are other TEDs made for them that accomplish the same task. There is also a different TED Drill product that requires no TED product attached to the trailer that is available and primarily used by independent operators which accomplishes the same purpose.

Fleet pricing, in volume, is less than $500 per kit (per tractor or driver or user) including the Drill TED. The TED trailer component with the hangar is @ $70 per trailer. ROI is typically 2-3 months. Intangibles include the elimination of injuries, HOS assistance, landing gear impacts on pavement and reduction in driver turnover (due to elimination of this task).

The three major components: drill, battery, charger are warranted for 1 year. We have a pretty much - no questions asked - warranty. That means as long as the equipment has not been run over, water immersed, mutiliated ... we will supply a replacement.
